Groups urged to get on board.
A minibus available for groups and organisations within the Single Regeneration Budget (SRB5) area is waiting for customers at the Kinsley and Fitzwilliam Community Resource Centre.
The SRB5 Partnership and the local branch of Sure Start are providing funding to run the 12 seater bus, which has disabled access.
Hemsworth ward 20 councillor Albert Manifield said: "The bus should provide community groups with an affordable transport option and allow them to access the wide range of facilities and resources available in the district."
Centre Manager Michelle Rayner said community groups and organisations would not be charged for using the bus, but would be asked to replace the fuel they used.
She said: "It is hoped that this will encourage a wide number of groups and organisations within the SRB5 area to use the bus for things such as day trips, attending sports matches and other events."
"It can also be used by various clubs to make sure their members can get to them more easily."
